Privacy policy

Metropoly collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, no ads, and no network requests of any kind. This page explains exactly what that means and why the app asks for the two permissions it does.

What Metropoly collects

Nothing. Metropoly does not collect, transmit, or have access to any personal data, usage data, or analytics, from you or anyone else who uses it. There are no accounts to create and nothing to sign into. The app contains no advertising and no third-party software development kits.

What stays on your device

Your polyrhythm presets, your last-used configuration, and your app preferences (theme, BPM range, and similar settings) are stored locally on your device only, using standard iOS/macOS on-device storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere, backed up to any server operated by me, or accessible to me in any form. If you use iCloud device backups, that backup is between you and Apple, governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Permissions Metropoly asks for

Metropoly requests exactly two permissions, both tied to a feature you choose to use, and both handled entirely on-device:

  • Photo library (add only). Requested the first time you save an exported video to your photo library. This is a write-only permission: Metropoly cannot read, browse, or access any existing photos or videos on your device.
  • Notifications. Requested the first time you render a video export. Rendering can continue after you switch to another app; if it finishes while Metropoly isn't the active app, a local notification tells you it's ready. This notification is generated and delivered entirely on your device, and no notification or push service is contacted.

Declining either permission does not stop the app from working; it only disables the specific convenience the permission is for.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised date. Given that the app collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare.
